Texas A&M won that title match 3-0 on Dec. 21, 2025, for the first national championship in program history. Ten months later the Aggies did it again on Kentucky's own floor. The Wildcats had not suffered a sweep loss there since 2024.
The win snapped Kentucky's 30-match home winning streak and was the Wildcats' first sweep loss at Memorial Coliseum since 2024. It was also Texas A&M's second win over a top-five opponent this season.
Texas A&M improved to 13-8 overall and 6-3 in the SEC, its third straight win. Kentucky fell to 15-5 and 7-3. It was the Wildcats' second straight loss. Before this, they let a two-set lead slip away in a loss to No. 9 Tennessee on Oct. 21.

Stowers leads balanced attack
Kyndal Stowers carried the Aggies' offense with 16 kills on a .314 hitting percentage. That stat measures attack efficiency by subtracting errors from kills and dividing by total attempts. She added 10 digs and an ace, her fourth straight match with double-digit kills and digs.
Natalie Ring followed with 12 kills, her third straight match in double figures. Gabi Rodriguez controlled the back row with 12 digs and an ace, her sixth consecutive match with double-digit digs. Addi Applegate added 6 digs, pushing her career total to 250.
None of the three sets was decided by more than five points. Kentucky pushed the second set to 25-23, the tightest margin of the night,. Still, Texas A&M closed out every set, a sign of how little separated two of the SEC's best teams.
The Wildcats hit .163 as a team, well off Texas A&M's .229, with 35 kills to the Aggies' 45. Brooklyn DeLeye led Kentucky with 14 kills, and Morgan Gaerte added a team-high 13 digs.

Blocking game decided it
The difference showed up at the net. Eliza Sharp had 7 blocks and delivered the match-point kill in the third set. Taryn Morris matched her career high with 5 blocks. Texas A&M finished with 10 total blocks as a team. That was enough to slow down a Kentucky attack that had not lost at home in 30 tries.
Setter Margot Manning ran the offense to a career-high 36 assists and passed 600 for her career in the process. "It's the way we played volleyball," Texas A&M head coach Jamie Morrison said. "The way that we stayed composed, we stayed steady."
Kentucky had lost just three matches all season before this week. Now it has dropped two in a row.
Texas A&M takes that composure to Reed Arena on Friday, when it hosts No. 9 Tennessee at 6:30 p.m.
