How we build it
Public data, no black box. Lines from ESPN and DraftKings, schedules and results from nflverse and ESPN, twenty-plus seasons of history behind the ratings.
Four things the box score hides. Rest, travel and body clock. Coaching and quarterback continuity. Officiating crews. Where the line opened and how it moved.
A call on every game, graded by how much it is worth. Strong (the desk's six strongest reads in each league that week), Lean (the next eight), Slight (the rest; a direction, not a bet). The model's percentage is printed on each one so you can see how far from a coin flip it is. A pass means the line is off.
The Results page is the product. Every lean, dated, with the line we posted it at. Never edited. Judge us on it.
Our picks are information and analysis, not a promise of results. Leans are the desk's model read; the Results page shows every one, hit or miss, and is never edited after the fact.
